PPR Pipe Welding Temperature and Fusion Time Chart | DVS 2207

Set the PPR welding machine to 260 ±10 °C. Heating, joining and cooling times change with pipe outside diameter; the SPK chart below covers sizes from 20 to 110 mm.

Important: These settings are for PPR/PP-R socket fusion. Do not apply the same temperature and timing to PVC waste pipe; use the gasketed or suitable solvent-joint method specified for that product.

How to weld PPR pipe

  1. Cut the pipe square. Make sure the cutter, welding sockets and product surfaces are clean, dry and free from oil.
  2. Fit an undamaged, correctly sized coated socket and allow the welding machine to reach 260 ±10 °C.
  3. Push the pipe and fitting straight onto the socket at the same time, without twisting.
  4. At the end of the diameter-specific heating time, remove both parts without twisting and join them immediately.
  5. Align within the permitted processing time. Do not rotate or load the joint during cooling.
  6. Complete the leak or pressure test required by the project procedure before concealing the installation.

Common PPR fusion mistakes

  • Angled or burred pipe cuts
  • Using worn or contaminated welding sockets
  • Underheating or overheating the joint
  • Twisting the parts during heating or joining
  • Loading the joint before cooling is complete
  • Overtightening threaded fittings or using an unsuitable sealing material
