PPR pipe operating conditions are determined by evaluating temperature, pressure and intended service life together. The DIN 8077 table below uses a safety factor of 1.5 to compare PPR pipe series across different temperatures and years of service.
What affects PPR pipe service life?
- Temperature: Long-term pressure resistance decreases as the conveyed fluid temperature rises.
- Pressure: Design and operating pressure must be assessed with the complete project conditions, including pressure variations.
- Service period: At the same temperature, the value in the table changes as the required years of service increase.
- Pipe series: Confirm SDR and product construction against the actual product data sheet and project standard.

How should this table be used for a project?
Use the table for preliminary comparison only. Pump pressure, temperature cycles, installation method and local specification also require verification. Review the SPK PPR product range or send the project conditions to the SPK technical team.
